Although Teaninich is mainly produced to end up in Johnnie Walker Red Label (yikes), luckily independent bottlers like Gordon & Macphail pick casks from the Teaninich stock to bottle under their own label. In this case the Gordon & Macphail Connoisseurs Choice, a range that has been a showcase for stunning whiskies for decades now. This Teaninich 12 Years Old was distilled in 2009 and is exclusively bottled for The Netherlands.

At a cask strength of 57.9% its no single malt for amateurs. The refill sherry butt this highland whisky aged in gives way for ginger, cinnamon aromas and citrus zest. Flavours of orange combine with white pepper and strawberry. They build up to a full finish with lingering cocoa powder.
